Jake Thompson, a 24-year-old graduate student in psychology, was struggling to keep up with the demands of his master's program. Despite being intelligent and passionate about his field, he was constantly missing deadlines, forgetting important study sessions, and losing track of assignments.
"I'd set reminders on my phone, write things down in planners, even put sticky notes everywhere, but nothing worked," Jake explains. "I'd see the reminder, think 'I'll do that in a minute,' and then completely forget about it. It was like my brain had a built-in delete button for important tasks."
His GPA had dropped to 2.8, and he was on academic probation. His advisor was concerned, and Jake was starting to doubt whether he could complete his degree. The stress was affecting his mental health and his relationships.
